The Best of 2014: “Best Female Voice Actress – Japanese”

Samurai here once again folks! We’re coming down to the wire! 2015 will hit Louisiana in about 50 minutes as of this printing so let’s hammer out these last few awards so I can go to bed! Coming up next, we have the Best Female Voice Actress in Japan from the year that was 2014! Again, quite a few contenders, but only two stood out from the crowd! Let’s take a look!

1405144432491Best Female Voice Actress (Japanese): Suzuko Hara

This girl has only been in one single anime. But sometimes, all it takes is just ONE anime to make you a star. In my eyes, Hara-chan’s singular role as Naru Kotoishi in Barakamon is enough for me to give her Best Female V/A in Japan. Not only is she age appropriate for the role, she’s also voice appropriate as well! She gives little Naru a personality all her own, something that some V/A’s three times her age has failed to do. So take a bow ma’am, you are the best of the best for 2014 and I look forward to hearing more from you!

1396034570995Runner Up:  Kana Hanazawa

As Potential Waifu #1 in Nisekoi, Potential Waifu #2 in No-Rin, and Good Student Yokoi in Tonari no Seki-Kun, Hanazawa-san has done a great job playing either a willowy girl, a slightly plump country girl or a repeatedly distracted high school girl in 2014, and honestly, I enjoyed each and every one! She’s done a great job this year, and I look forward to hearing more from her–preferably in a second season of Tonari no Seki-Kun…which I’m sure will never happen…dang it.

And there you have it! The best Japanese Voice Actresses of the year that was 2014! Now, one more time, we take a trip back to the US to award the Best Female Voice Actress of 2014 in English! Why? Because I’m just that crazy enough to do it!
