Breaking News: Hayao Miyazaki to Retire From Film-Making

Hayao MiyazakiHey guys, Samurai here, and have I got some news for you—short but shocking! Anime News Network reports Hayao Miyazaki, the 72-year-old award winning anime movie director who has created such infamous works as Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Ponyo, Kiki’s Delivery Service and, of course, My Neighbor Totoro among other works, has announced through Studio Ghibli President Koji Hoshino that he will be retiring from feature film creation. No clear reason has been noted as to why he’s retiring from feature-films, but seeing as how the man is 72-Years-Old…I would hazard a guess to say that Miyazaki-san is just tired, and feels the need to pass the baton on to other up-and-comers in the anime industry.

Oh, and here’s an update on the “Mignogna-Phone”; the iPhone 4s that voice actor Vic Mignogna is auctioning off on eBay that I mentioned the other day. At the time this article goes to print, the bidding is currently at $305.00, with 17 bidders in play and 68 bids made so far. The auction ends in 3 days and 21 hours and by my estimate, the price will escalate through the stratosphere between now and then. Check out our Twitter feed or follow @CajunSamurai101 for updates.

I would be remiss in noting, however, that Wal-Mart just recently announced a price-drop on the iPhone 5, the successor to the iPHone 4s…a BIG price drop. How big? Well, lemme put it this way–for the current bidding price of Vic’s iPhone 4s, you could by at least 3 iPhone 5’s from Wal-Mart.*

Good day!

*Assuming, of course, you decide to either start new service or upgrade your existing service which might require renewing your contract. Either way, out of contract or in, you’re still better off getting the updated phone. Just saying….
