Hey guys, Samurai here! Got a bit of breaking news for you. With one month until the release of “Evangelion 3.0 Q You Can (Not) Redo”, the third movie in the “Evangelion” Reboot saga, a new, authentic trailer has surfaced on the Tubes. This new trailer confirms the release date of November 17th in Japan. As of yet, there is no rumblings from Funimation Entertainment about when to expect a US release date, but should that information become available, we will be sure to bring it to you!
Just as a refresher for those of you who have been living under a rock for the last few years, “Evangelion 3.0 Q You Can (Not) Redo” is the third in a predicted four-movie series known as “Rebuild of Evangelion”. True to it’s name, the “Rebuild of Evangelion” project is a retelling of the classic 1995 mecha series “Neon Genesis Evangelion” directed by Hideaki Anno. The earlier films, “Evangelion 1.0” and “Evangelion 2.0” were licensed and dubbed by Funimation Entertainment, with Spike Spencer, Tiffany Grant and Allison Keith-Shipp reprising their roles as Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Shikinami and Misato Katsuragi respectively.
The new trailer confirms has several noteworthy moments that will be sure to have tongues wagging and keys clicking across the internet including, but not limited to:
- The reappearance of Asuka Langley Shikinami, apparently in battle sporting an eyepatch. [What IS it with the Japanese and eye patches?!]
- Mari Illustrious Mikinami sporting new glasses and apparently piloting an, as yet unidentified Evangelion. [Umm…geeze NERV, you REALLY want to give THIS girl another Eva? I mean, she’s already…(SPOILER ALERT!!! HIGHLIGHT TO READ!!!) destroyed one Provisional unit, and she completely trashed Eva Unit 02 in the climax of the 2nd movie…(END SPOILER ALERT!!!)]
- Rei is nekked…again…what else is new here…
- Kaworu plays a somewhat prominent role…and prominent piano. It should be noted that there is a split second scene with him and Shinji playing together.
